Baha’i Blog is made possible thanks to contributors and creators from around Australia and beyond. We welcome anyone involved in the Baha’i community (not just Baha’is!) to contribute, and we’re always on the lookout for writers and creators.

Things to Remember
- Baha’i Blog is NOT an official site! This means where individuals express opinions, they need to do so as individuals giving their personal reflections, not with an authoritative tone or voice.
- Baha’i Blog operates within the framework of the Baha’i teachings. Baha’i Blog is committed to conducting its services within the framework of the Baha’i teachings and the truths they enshrine. Check out our Editorial Values for more on this!
- We look for content that is conversational and personal in style. That means anecdotes, authenticity, writing that sounds like you, and video that feels real rather than staged!
- While we want personal content, that doesn’t mean content all about you! Make sure you try to stay on topic and the subject of the article or video is always the main focus. Find ways to use your own personal experience as a vehicle to discuss the topic rather than the topic being the vehicle to talk about you.
- All Baha’i Blog articles must be 100% original content, which means they haven’t been published anywhere else before, whether on or offline.
- We do repost videos, music and other forms of media – if you’ve published these elsewhere already, we’re open to reposting on Baha’i Blog, get in touch!
Articles – Word Count
The length of most posts should be approximately 1,000 words (including quotations), but this also depends on the type of post you’re writing. So for example, a ’round-up’ post like 10 Great Introductory Books on the Baha’i Faith, or a ‘news-type’ post like one about the release of the Frontiers of Learning film doesn’t necessarily need to be that long, but an average full-length post like Some Background to What’s Been Happening to the Baha’is in Iran should sit around the 1,000 word mark.
Articles – Stand-alone Posts Only Please
All of our posts must ‘stand-alone’, which means that we do not accept posts written as a series (ie, Part 1, Part 2,). You can of course link to other relevant posts, but our readers should be able to read your post without having to have read posts in any particular order.
Images, Footage and Music
We take copyright seriously and the images we use for our posts are important to us. Our ideal type of imagery is photography of real people doing real things – so if you have imagery of you and your community, that’s great. If you’re in need of general Baha’i imagery then Baha’i Media Bank is a great source of photos. And if you’re after general stock photography then we recommend Unsplash or Pexels.
If you’re making video content then you may need footage, in which case we recommend licensing from a reputable stock footage offering, or using a free service like Pexels or Mixkit. Likewise for music, there are many reputable sources of stock music, including a free service called Uppbeat.
