Baha’i Blog, a weekly updated site celebrating the Baha’i Faith through news, videos, resources and individual perspectives.
Welcome to Baha’i Blog!
I’m Naysan, the editor of Baha’i Blog, who together with the help of a bunch of friends, make up the Baha’i Blog team. If you’re not familiar with the Baha’i Faith, you might like to quickly check out our What is the Baha’i Faith page, or watch this short 2 minute video about it. Otherwise read on, to learn all about the site!
So, what exactly is Baha’i Blog?
Baha’i Blog is a project which aims to create a cosy little nook in the blogosphere for Baha’is and friends of the Faith alike. As Baha’is, we all know what it’s like to live with an awareness that you truly do have family (spiritual, if not biological) all over the world. This blog aims to mirror that in the online world by connecting people from all over the world.
Baha’i Blog first found life as a project run by Ryan Lash some years back, but with his hectic travel schedule, he was not able to maintain it and happily for us he kindly permitted the site to be recreated and relaunched as you see it now. We went live in 2011 (on Naw-Ruz, to be precise!) and we’ve been working hard to make the blog an online resource where Baha’is and their friends around the world are able to access a wealth of information.
Want to learn a new song based on the Baha’i writings? Need some ideas on how to hold the attention of your children’s class for more than 10 seconds at a time? Or maybe, you’ve exhausted the number of times a person can refresh their Facebook news feed, and think that reading short pieces by Baha’is and their friends from all over the world might be an alternative (and hopefully, more rewarding!) method of procrastination. Baha’i Blog aims to become a useful resource for you.
Baha’i Blog is not one of the official Baha’i sites (we encourage you to go to Bahai.org for that), but it’s a project that has been spearheaded by our little team of bloggers, who ultimately would like to see the site – in it’s own, special, slightly geeky way – be a creative expression of different perspectives, offering opportunities to explore the Baha’i teachings and Baha’i community activities. Know of a resource that other Baha’is might be interested in? Get in touch with us. Have an idea for an article that you think our readers might want to read? Make a suggestion! Or better still, write the article and send it in to us! There are so many ways you can contribute and be part of this.
We really hope you stick around for what we are positive will be an exciting journey.
Thanks for your support!
