Baha’is believe in the power of prayer and you’ll find Baha’is and their friends, throughout the world, getting together to pray. This is often referred to as a ‘devotional gathering’ or ‘devotional meeting’, and they happen in diverse settings, whether in cities or villages. These gatherings are open to all and are intended to embrace that attitude of prayer and practice of devotion that is universal to all religions.
The Baha’i World Centre has recently released a new compilation on prayer and devotional life which can be read online at the Baha’i Reference Library here. Prepared by the Research Department of the Universal House of Justice, this compilation features extracts from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, the Bab, and Abdu’l-Baha and the letters of Shoghi Effendi and the Universal House of Justice.
You can find this compilation, and many others, on the Baha’i Reference Library which is the official online library of Baha’i Writings. There you’ll also find newly released translations in English of the Writings of Baha’u’llah and Abdu’l-Baha.
If you haven’t already, you may wish to subscribe to the Baha’i World News Service, which often reports when new translations are released, as well as documents the activities of the worldwide Baha’i community.

That’s a wonderful thing. You can learn a lot from the prayers. I am very excited about the meditations and prayers. Through the prayers, I have learned to understand Baha’u’llah much better. I read the prayers very closely today. They have become a big mirror for me. I cordially thank the House of Justice for its great work for us. It’s just a beautiful thing. When you begin to read the prayers, you can become addicted to it so highly interesting it is. One is never finished
