Festival of Ridvan

  • Ridvan celebrates Baha’u’llah’s time in 1863 in the garden of Ridvan in Baghdad when He publicly declared His station as a Manifestation of God. The Ridvan Festival is 12 days long and is also the time of year when Baha’is elect their governing bodies.

November 5, 2015, in Music > Studio Session, by

Baha’i Blog’s “Studio Sessions” is an initiative where we invite Baha’is and their friends from around the world to come into a studio and share the Baha’i Writings put to music.

In this Baha’i Blog Studio Session, Carmel sings “Hemia Day (This is the Day)”. The song is in both English and Bislama (Vanuatu), and is based on the Writings of Baha’u’llah.

This song was filmed and recorded in Sydney, Australia 2014.

Lyrics & Quote

This is the Day in which God’s most excellent favors have been poured out upon men, the Day in which His most mighty grace hath been infused into all created things. It is incumbent upon all the peoples of the world to reconcile their differences, and, with perfect unity and peace, abide beneath the shadow of the Tree of His care and loving-kindness.

Beautiful song and well sung! Does anybody know the composer by any chance? I have the sheet music of the choral version and would love to be able to attribute it to its rightful composer. Thanks!

I think the song was originally put to music and melody by A. J. Worek from Vanuatu. I heard it from him first while serving together in Haifa.
